UpDate and Norfolk
Part I.
Up Date:My Life
A: I bought a new car! A Saturn ION III, it's cypress green. I love it. I have no idea how I am going to pay for it. But good news, moving to VA rocks for insurance--my NY insurance for my 10 year old p.o.s. car (liability only) was only $60 less (for the entire 6 months) than my new insurance coverage that has tons of bells and whitsles. It is exciting. I have never had car payments before, never had this kind of debt before. And I hav enever had a car that was all mine before.
B:Dana started working with me (and my mom) this week. It is great having her there. It is a completely different kind of job than she has ever had before, but I know she will be great at it. She is already doing well.
C: Since I am back in the area, I have started working a little bit at Wolf Trap. That means going to lots of shows this summer. I love seeing live music and I cannot wait for better weather.
D: Dana and I have decided to plan a cruise for May 2007. My parents are going, some of my brothers, my aunt and uncle and Dana's parents. I am really excited about Dana's parents, they have never really been on vacation before and I think they will love it. 399 days to go.
Part II.
Meg's Wedding.
A:So, it seems that we have plenty of rooms booked. Kalela, I bet you will probably be able to cancel your more expensive room (if you want) and find people to share.
1)People with rooms (for sharing) Melissa & Dana, Janice, Jessica (?)--anyone else I am forgetting?
2)People who need a place to sleep: Heather, Amanda, Kalela. My room is booked for 2 nights, Fri and Sat. I feel like I am completely missing someone... How long is everyone planning on staying?
B: When is everyone getting to the hotel on Friday?
C: Saturday plans. I know meg mentioned something happening on Sat. I hope te weather will be nice.
D: Sunday plans. I am planning on probably leaving early on Sunday--unless something better comes along. :)
Part III.
Post Script.
Tada, I wrote on the blog. I guess I am going to send an e-mail for everyone to check the blog!

follow up to ARGH.
okay, so apparently today was my parent's day in court. my mother won. the judge basically told my dad to get a job. so my mother gets roughly $250,000 AND my dad's pension, which is somewhere around $100,000. she gets alimony forever thanks to the state of new jersey not having a time cap on alimony, and she gets child support through may, why i don't know since tom's living in boston. which all totally sucks for my dad. BUT, if he'd gotten a job when he left (he got fired shortly after he left us), and been consistently paying my mother from the start, it wouldn't have come to this, and she MAY have actually turned out to be less bitter and hostile about it all. and frankly, val's only 37 and makes an assload of money herself, i'm sure my daddy won't exactly be forced to live in a homeless shelter over this.
now, the plus side to this is that it's (hopefully) finally all over with, and my mother can live up to what she's said all these years, which is "if you father had been paying me what he's supposed to, i'd be over it". well, so help me god, if my mother gets this assload of money and STILL can't behave herself at kim's wedding because valerie's there, my brother won't be her only child not speaking to her.
side note: apparently tom hasn't spoken to her since new years, probably because she's got a lot to do with him being an alcoholic. my theory is that his shrink told him to cut contact with those things that make him want to drink. who knows. that's not my problem, let my mother deal with it.
so that's my follow up, in case anyone still reads the blog. (other than heather). where is everyone, by the way? geez. it's awful lonely out here in internet land... :(
